Fishing Orofino, ID

Orofino Idaho was founded in the late 1800’s after gold was discovered in the area, hence the name Orofino which means fine ore. Nestled in the shadow of 720ft high Dworshak Dam this small logging community is located 40 miles East of Lewiston, Idaho on the world famous Clearwater River. Orofino has much to offer: you can go explore the 57 mile long Dworshak reservoir, take a tour of Dworshak national fish hatchery (the largest steelhead hatchery in the world), or take a short drive or hike to the surrounding areas and see lots of wildlife.

Our trips here offer some of the best fishing in the world for B-Run Steelhead and spring run Chinook. The B-Run Steelhead is one of the largest strains of steelhead. The average size fish is between 10-14lbs and 15-20lb fish are common. These hard fighting steelies are world renowned for their size and fighting ability. Our spring Chinook are some of the best eating salmon in the world, these hard fighting salmon love the taste of hooks with limits possible every day.

 

Steelhead

Book a trip to fish for the ocean-going rainbow trout-the steelhead. With catches of 20 plus fish a day common, this fish is fun to reel in and renowned for its trout-like meat. Side drifting bait is a fun, highly productive technique.

RATES: 1 day trip: $275 per person. 2 person minimum. 6 people maximum capacity per boat.

Salmon

Famed for its pink meat and mild flavor, the salmon is the most sought after fish in the world.
